A Day in the Life of a Smart Home with ELAN Systems
There are many products on the market that tout smart home automation. Numerous products for control and automation include programmable thermostats that make climate control easier. Other products, allow you to adjust lighting and window shades with a remote. Some help you control video and audio. Several provide remote access to control security and door locks. Our team at Synergy Integrated Systems, enjoys the proliferation of all this smart-house integration. Especially, when we find a company that does it all. ELAN Systems is that company. In fact, they’re one of the best and a global leader in automation systems.
What does that mean for you? We’d like to show you what it means. To fully visualize it, let’s imagine a day in the life of a smart home with total control thanks to ELAN Systems.
Waking Up with ELAN Systems
First, let’s go ahead and wake up a bit early. We’re going to have a busy day with our innovative ELAN system. Right before the sun has completely risen from the horizon, soft audio gently begins to play from in-ceiling speakers inconspicuously placed in your bedroom ceiling. This audio can be ocean waves lapping at the shore, windchimes rustling in an imaginary breeze or your favorite music to welcome a new day.
As the audio begins, your HVAC system turns on with thermostats set to the exact temperature you prefer when you rise. If you want it to be a little cooler or warmer at any point, simply use your voice control or smartphone to adjust it. As the sun proceeds to escape the horizon, smart window shades automatically open. Gentle lighting filters into your room. It is time to rise.
Enjoying Your Morning Routine
While you go about your morning routine, your smart home continues to work for you in the background. Lighting is set to turn on for each room you need. When you depart the room, lighting turns off to save you energy.
Likewise, your favorite morning video plays in whichever room you choose. Like to hear stock updates as you shower? Or, perhaps you prefer an entertaining morning show. Either way, you can watch video from the bathroom, your bedroom, the kitchen and any other room in your house with an audio and video feed. As you move from room to room, it plays seamlessly pausing with voice control and restarting the same way or with a remote user interface.
When it’s time to leave, ready your home with the elegant ELAN touch panel. Set security to the mode you prefer, double check door locks and take a quick glance through your surveillance cameras. Once you have the house secure, head out for your day.
Dealing with Details During the Day
Once you’ve left, your home keeps working for you. Since this is an imagination of a day in the life, let’s take you to the beach as it toils away!
While you sink your feet into the sand, climate control back at your home switches thermostats to the appropriate level to save on costs. As the sun’s rays shine upon the ocean, they’re also shining on your house. However, you needn’t worry. Window shades and curtains close and open according to the temperature to conserve energy.
Midday, as the surf tickles your toes, you realize that you forgot to water the lawn. You laugh. With ELAN, you don’t have to remember to water the lawn. It does it for you.
Later, as you lounge on the shore many hours from your home, you hear a soft ding from your smartphone. Someone is at your door. Fortunately, you can see on your mobile device that it’s just a package delivery. For extra peace of mind, you do a quick scan of each surveillance camera. Your property is secure; you may relax.
Since you’re having so much fun, you decide to lounge longer than expected. Since it will now be dark by the time you get home, you turn on lighting via the ELAN mobile app on your smartphone. Then, you set the hot tub to heat up a bit in case you want to go for an evening dip. As you get closer to home, you use remote access to raise the hot tub lid. You’ve decided to take that soak after all.
Once you arrive home, it’s ready for you. At Synergy Integrated Systems, we can actually program smart home automation to learn your habits. It will maintain lighting, climate and security.
Landscape lighting greets you with its soft glow. Audio begins playing as soon as you enter the door. Since you’re in a relaxed mood, you use voice control and request your “chill lighting” mode that our team at Synergy programmed for you. Later, you’ll likely switch lighting control to “entertainment” mode and have a few friends over. Either way, you can change it all with the touch of a button or utterance of a few words.
Welcome to your smart home!
Customize Your Automation Experience
Sound delightful? It is. Better yet, you can customize this experience to fit your personal needs the best. Our team at Synergy Integrated Systems keeps you in mind from the start. For us, smart home control is not just about a user interface and innovative technology. It’s also about the people who use it. Our human controllers are just as important as our devices and controllers. We think this technology should simplify your life, not complicate it.
Therefore, we strive to get to know you from the beginning. At our free consultation, we work to understand your lifestyle and desires. Then, we tailor a comprehensive quality solution to meet your needs and your budget.
Afterwards, we develop cost for your installation. Because we bid most projects based on the scope of work and not on an hourly rate, we provide fixed price quotes — not estimates. You can count on your quote being the final total for your project.

” I was very hesitant initially that the system would be too complicated as I’m not very good with electronics. But the system you installed is so easy to use and I can’t imagine life without it. The music sounds wonderful and it is so easy to turn on a DVD with only the push of a button. My favorite feature is the night button that turns all the lights off from my bedside table. Both Matt and Aaron were great to work with and I really appreciate their attention to detail.”
