Aaron Vedder, President and Founder of Synergy Integrated Systems
Prior to starting Synergy Integrated Systems in 2011, Aaron worked in the IT field for more than 12 years, specializing in system administration and network security. However, his passion was always electronics, and he recognized the need in the Triangle for a smaller-scale audio video company that provides individualized client care at affordable prices. Aaron strives to stay on the leading edge of the latest technologies and to design and implement a custom solution for each of his clients. He is directly involved with each and every project, and builds a solid relationship with each one of his customers.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Rochester Institute Of Technology. He currently resides in North Raleigh with his wife Michelle and their five rescue dogs. His favorite pastimes are playing guitar and playing hockey.
Michelle Vedder, Vice President and Co-Founder of Synergy Integrated Systems
Prior to co-founding Synergy Integrated Systems with her husband Aaron, Michelle worked as a software engineer for more than 10 years. Together they have found a niche in the Triangle market for a custom audio video integrator with superior quality installations and customer service. With strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, Michelle runs the day to day operations of the company.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from the University of Toronto. She is an avid ice hockey goalie and plays on a few men’s recreational teams in the Triangle, including the company-sponsored Synergy ice hockey team. She is passionate about helping dogs in need and proudly supports the Saving Grace Animal adoption program. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their four rescue dogs, Coconut, Sunny, Taylor, and Brownie.
Matt Hawkins, Lead Installation Engineer
Matt Hawkins is the lead installer and retrofit expert. He graduated from NC State University in 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Math Education. He has been doing retrofit home theater work for the past 10 years and enjoys jobs that are unique and are customized to the home and the client. He has vast experience at running and terminating several different types of cabling as well as installing a variety of TV and surround sound systems. He also possesses excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills and is quick to find and debug problems in wiring and connections to ensure a system is fully operational.
In his down time he enjoys outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and biking. He also enjoys home improvement projects and learning new trades to fix up his house. His self motto is that everything in life is a learning experience and he looks forward to getting the most out of every lesson.
Marino E. Guzman, Project Manager
With over twenty years of valuable professional experience, he is an Electronic Engineer who has made great contributions in every place that he has worked. In NBC-Universal COMCAST as an on-air Engineer he supported on air 24/7 operation in Colorado, in Harris Broadcast-Imagine Communications he started as Field Engineer and escalated to Presales Engineer, Regional Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director. He worked for SONY Broadcast dealer handling sales, service, and technical departments. Integration of Sony automation systems for radio and tv stations. Sony Broadcast recognized his expertise in the design, configuration and installation of the broadcast system in the Dominican Presidency National Palace.
He has been serving as a Technical Service Consultant to over 20 television stations in the Caribbean and Latin America with experience as a Technical Director on more than 100 live transmissions.
He came to the US 30 years ago hired by Digital Video Systems, Miami, Florida as a sales engineer working with audio and video for commercial and broadcast market.
Jonathan Pierce, Technician
Jonathan grew up surrounded by music and technology. Being taught everything computers by his grandfather, James who was troubleshooting hardware at IBM, he quickly learned how to learn and leverage new software to create things. He dove into amateur video production, recording his multiple bands and graphic design.
He quickly found his first love is and will always be music. “I’ve always had custom made sound systems to enjoy my favorites on. I remember installing new systems in friend’s cars in high school for extra cash” Jonathan shares.
Jonny has traveled the world in the Army, where he was trained in Audio & Video, and brings an auteur’s perspective to everything he does. DJing was always just a fun hobby until, after the Army, he found his skills and techniques were in high demand. Building up a following over years of parties, he was tapped to play the first Epicenter Festival and, it’s a good thing he did because when the storm came and Tool bowed out Jonny ended up with a crowd of thousands who were thrilled to experience his set.
Just about anything that combines music and creative technology, Jonathan is involved with it, which brings experience to his work here at Synergy.
Glen Cioccari, Technician
Glen is originally from upstate NY. He is always eager to learn and expand his installation and retrofitting knowledge.
Aside from enjoying the nice southern climate, he likes to watch and play sports during his free time. He believes staying mentally and physically fit plays a major role in one’s happiness.
