New Home Automation Products Make Your House the Smartest on the Street
Even if you’ve been shopping for a home automation system, you may not be aware of the latest advancements in smart home technology. A host of new products, apps, and technology was revealed in October at the CEDIA Expo, a large annual gathering of custom electronics integrators and the global showcase of the future home experience.
Here at Synergy Integrated Systems, part of our job is staying on top of these developments in order to bring our customers the best, most cutting-edge home automation and entertainment systems. Let’s take a look at a few of the products from the show floor that piqued our attention. They just might find a space in your home to simplify and streamline your life.
URC Z-Wave Network Hub
Here at Synergy Integrated Systems, we have relied on the URC Z-Wave Gateway for many home automation projects. We are looking forward to installing the company’s new Z-Wave network hub, featuring Wi-Fi connectivity with Wi-Fi Protected Setup for increased security, a smaller footprint, and up to 20 percent faster processing.
In all, it’s an even more powerful system that allows homeowners to leverage the popular Z-Wave protocol. You’ll even have the freedom to set your own lighting scenes without the hassle of calling us back for minor changes.
New Apps for Lutron Home Automation Systems
Lutron’s RadioRA 2 and HomeWorks QS home automation systems now have even more robust apps, putting more control into your hands as the owner of a smart home. The app, Lutron Connect, works with the company’s new cloud-based Lutron Connect Bridge, offering a wider feature set for more capabilities and upgrade potential in the future.
The Lutron Connect Bridge extends support to Nest and Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats for more options in temperature control. The app also has geofencing features to detect your location and adjust lighting, temperature, and other home systems accordingly. It is compatible with Android and iOS systems, including AppleWatch.
Control Even More with Crestron Pyng
Since the introduction of this game-changing home automation hub last year, Crestron has added more than 300 products to Pyng technology. In addition to controlling lighting, Crestron motorized shading solutions, audio distribution and streaming, and Crestron touch screens, Pyng can control ONVIF cameras, RGB lighting controls, and wireless fans. The Pyng hub can also integrate with Cresnet and Ethernet wired devices, adding a whole new dimension of flexibility to the system. When Crestron said, a year ago, that the capabilities of Pyng would continue to expand, this is what the luxury control system manufacturer meant.
